Jesus Christ: The Way, the Truth and the Life.

The Lord Jesus Christ declares in the scriptures that He is ‘‘the way, the truth and the life,’’ according to Him, ‘‘no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.’’-John 14:6. No one can have access to God or His place of abode called heaven without Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ never told a lie and will always tell the truth. He (Jesus Christ) is the embodiment of truth and life. It would be necessary to reiterate here that Jesus Christ is the truth and the life. The words of the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ will abide forever. In the scriptures, Jesus Christ asserts that ‘‘Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.’’-Matthew 24:35. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to God. Again, the scriptures enunciate that: ''This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.''-1 Timothy 1:15. Ever since the Lord Jesus Christ came to this world to die for sinners, salvation for humanity cannot be obtained through anyone else except Jesus Christ. Indeed, the scriptures reveal that ''Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.''-Acts 4:12.

The throne of God Almighty is in heaven (Isaiah 66:1); hence God’s Kingdom is in heaven. The holy angels of God also reside in heaven as well as the saints who have slept in the Lord. Having attempted to establish the fact that Christ is the only way to God; the pertinent question to ask at this juncture is: How can a person be guaranteed a place in the Kingdom of God at the end of the person's sojourn here on earth? The Lord Jesus Christ says that: ‘‘Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.’’-John 3:3. For anyone to become born again, the person must be saved from sin. Christ came to this world to save sinners; It is also written in the scriptures that: ''This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.''-1 Timothy 1:15; Basically, the following steps can be taken by anyone willing to be saved:

1)  Acknowledge the fact that you have sinned against God; According to the scriptures, ''...sin is the transgression of the law''-1 John 3:4; Disobedience to the law of God in any way is sin. The scriptures declare that: ''For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.''-Romans 3:23; Again, the scriptures assert that: ''The wages of sin is death; but the gift  of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.''-Romans 6:23

2) Repentance: God is demanding genuine repentance from every sinner; the scriptures posit that: ''And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:''-Acts 17:30;

3)  Confess and forsake the sins : ''He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy''-Proverbs 28:13 

4)  Believe in Christ: God also wants every sinner to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God who died for our sins, and was buried and resurrected the third day according to the scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:1-4); ‘’For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’’-John 3:16; Furthermore, the scriptures contend: ‘‘That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.’’-Romans 10:9

5)  Pray:  As a reader of this article, if you have not given your life to Christ, the author of this article would like to implore you to do so now; invite the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ into your life as you pray to God to forgive you of your sins, confess the sins to God and forsake them; Pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ (John 14:14).

The journey to the Kingdom of God starts with the salvation-experience when a sinner is born again, and can only be sustained through complete obedience to the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and the word of God. The Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ remains the only way to God, He is also the truth and the Life (John 14:6).
